DR. KHAMAEL

Dentist

Dr. Khamael Abdulridha is a dedicated dental professional and a valued member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) and the Ontario Dental Association (ODA) since 2021. Her dental career began with the completion of her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at the University of Baghdad, Iraq, in 2001. Following her graduation, Dr. Khamael practiced dentistry for two years in Iraq before spending five years honing her skills in the United Arab Emirates.

Since relocating to Canada, Dr. Khamael has continued to pursue advanced education and training in various aspects of dentistry. She has completed a one-year implant residency at the University of Toronto and has specialized training in cone beam 3D radiography, root canals, nitrous oxide sedation, cosmetic dentistry, full mouth rehabilitation, sleep apnea appliances, as well as Invisalign and ClearCorrect orthodontic treatments.

Dr. Khamael is committed to maintaining the highest standards of dental care, constantly expanding her knowledge and refining her skills to provide the best possible treatment for her patients.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Khamael is a proud mother of two and resides in Oakville with her family. When she’s not at the clinic, she enjoys gardening and spending time outdoors, particularly hiking with her family.

Dr. Firas Khekani

General Dentist, D.D.S., H.D. Ortho & MSc Ortho

Dr. Firas Khekani is a highly skilled and certified General Dentist by the National Dental Board of Canada. He is a proud member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO), the Ontario Dental Association (ODA), and the International Association of Orthodontics (IAO).

Dr. Khekani began his dental career with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from Baghdad University in 1996. His passion for orthodontics led him to further his education, earning a High Diploma in Orthodontics in 2014. Committed to advancing his expertise, Dr. Khekani pursued postgraduate studies in Europe, where he obtained a Master of Science degree in Orthodontics from Danube University in 2014.

Since moving to Canada with his family, Dr. Khekani has continued to enhance his knowledge and skills by attending numerous dental courses and conferences across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Dubai. His commitment to continuous learning ensures that he stays at the forefront of dental advancements, providing the highest quality care to his patients.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Khekani is a devoted husband and father of two. In his free time, he enjoys biking, playing table tennis, bowling, and spending quality time with his family.

Dr. Gokhan Shevket

Dental Surgeon, D.D.S.

Dr. Gokhan Shevket graduated from the University of Western Ontario Dental School with his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2006. He also has a specialist degree in Biology, and major degrees in chemistry and mathematics from the University of Toronto (1997-2002).

In 2003, Dr. Shevket was one of six individuals to be accepted into the Dental Officer Training Program (DOTP) through the Canadian Forces. Dr. Shevket served with the Canadian Forces for 7.5 years as a military dentist, where he was fortunate enough to receive extensive training in many dental surgical programs. He retired from the Canadian Forces in 2010 with a Captain’s rank, and now pursuits providing surgical dental services to various clinics in the community.

Although he is a general practitioner (GP), his extensive surgical training and experience allows him to provide some dental surgeries at regular (GP ODA Fee Guide) prices to his patients. His dental services primarily include impacted wisdom teeth extractions (with or without sedation), dental implant surgery, and soft and hard tissue (bone) grafting. Over the course of his 18+ years of dental services, he has performed thousands of surgeries – with or without sedation, including oral sedation, nitrous (laughing gas) sedation , and intravenous (IV) sedation (1 agent). Dr Shevket does provide limited dental surgeries under General Anesthesia (GA – monitored by Anesthesiologist + Registered Nurse ) depending on the patient’s anxiety, location, and the complexity of the surgery.

DR. CHERKAS

Endodontic Specialist

Dr. Pavel Cherkas earned his dental degree from the Faculty of Dentistry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel, where he also obtained M.Med.Sc. and PhD degrees in Neuroscience. He furthered his education with an M.Sc. in Endodontics at the University of Toronto and successfully completed the Royal College Fellowship Examinations.

Currently, Dr. Cherkas serves as an Assistant Professor of Oral Physiology and Endodontics at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry. His academic and research interests lie in the areas of endodontics, neurophysiology, and orofacial pain.

Dr. Cherkas is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Endodontics, the Canadian Academy of Endodontics, the Ontario Society of Endodontics, the International Association for the Study of Pain, and the Canadian Pain Society. He has contributed to the editorial boards of journals such as the Journal of Endodontics, the Journal of Chemical Neuroanatomy, and the Journal of Orofacial Pain. Additionally, he is a reviewer and an associate member of the Faculty of 1000 Medicine.

Dr. Cherkas has conducted extensive pain research at leading institutions worldwide, including Cambridge University (UK), Leipzig University (Germany), and Tokyo University (Japan). His scholarly output includes 16 peer-reviewed articles, a chapter in a textbook, a clinical guideline, and numerous research abstracts. He has also served as a Resident Member on the Regenerative Endodontics Committee of the American Association of Endodontics and has delivered over 40 lectures at national and international conferences on topics related to his expertise.
